1. Acceptance of Terms
By using mypet.ink, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the site means you accept any changes.
2. What mypet.ink Is
mypet.ink is a free community platform where people can:
- Submit photos of their pets
- Vote for their favorite pets via email verification
- View leaderboards and a Hall of Fame
- Raise visibility for stray animals
The site is provided free of charge and is not intended for commercial use.
3. Submitting Content
You are responsible for what you submit. By submitting a pet, you confirm that:
- You own the photos or have permission to share them
- The animal in the photo is real
- The content does not violate anyone's rights
- You are not submitting on behalf of a business or organization for promotional purposes
You give mypet.ink a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display your submitted photos on the site.
4. Prohibited Content
You must not submit or post anything that is:
- Sexually explicit or inappropriate
- Violent, abusive, or harmful to animals
- Fake, misleading, or impersonating another person
- Spam or repetitive content
- In violation of any law
We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these rules without notice.
5. Voting Rules
- One vote per pet every 24 hours per verified email
- You must verify your email via OTP to cast a vote
- You must not use fake, temporary, or disposable email addresses to bypass voting limits
- You must not use bots, scripts, or any automated tools to cast votes
- Vote manipulation will result in your votes being removed
We reserve the right to disqualify any pet found to be cheating.
6. Stray Animals
The Stray Spotlight feature is intended to raise awareness for homeless animals. By submitting a stray:
- You confirm the animal is genuinely homeless to the best of your knowledge
- You are not exploiting the animal for personal gain
- You understand mypet.ink is not an animal rescue organization and cannot guarantee any outcome
7. Content Removal
You can request removal of your submitted content at any time by emailing hello@mypet.ink. We will process removal requests within 7 days.
We also reserve the right to remove any content at our discretion if it violates these terms or our community values.
8. Account & Voting Authentication
mypet.ink does not require you to create a permanent account. However, to vote you must verify your email address using a one-time password (OTP) sent to your email. This means:
- You must provide a valid email address to vote
- Your email is used only to verify your identity and enforce the one vote per 24hr rule
- We do not store your password as there is none — only a temporary OTP is used
- Your email will not be used for marketing or shared with third parties
- If you submitted a pet without verifying, your submission is still visible but votes require verification
9. Disclaimer
mypet.ink is provided as-is without any warranties. We do not guarantee:
- That the site will always be available
- That votes or leaderboards will always be accurate
- That submitted content will be stored forever
We are a small independent project and do our best to keep things running smoothly.
10. Limitation of Liability
mypet.ink and its creators are not liable for:
- Any loss of data
- Any harm caused by user-submitted content
- Any actions taken based on information found on the site
11. Future Features
New features like merch, payments, and user accounts are planned for future versions. New terms will be added and clearly communicated before those features launch.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of your country of residence. Any disputes will be handled in good faith before any legal action is considered.
